StatementLetter to President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation
We call for an end to military intervention in Ukraine
March 4, 2014
Japan Council against A and H Bombs
Against the decision of the Russian Government to make military intervention in Ukraine on the ground of protecting Russian Ukrainians, voices of criticism is heightening around the world.
Making unilateral military intervention into another country without its consent or any U.N. Security Council resolutions would be an act of aggression in violation of the country’s sovereignty and the Charter of the United Nations.
Clearly, the problems within Ukraine should be settled peacefully by the hands of the Ukrainian people without outside intervention.
We urge your government to immediately stop military intervention in Ukraine and work for the resolution of the problems in a peaceful manner.
