愛知県原水協あて

マギティング・ファブロスからのメッセージ

愛知県と岐阜県の平和行進に参加する機会をいただき光栄に思います。

国際青年リレー平和行進を代表して、愛知県原水協と協力団体のみなさんに、平和行進で大成功をおさめられたことにお祝いを申し上げます。

I am honored to have the privilege of joining the Aichi and Gifu Peace March.

On behalf of the International Youth Relay Peace March, we congratulate the Aichi Gensuikyo together with its partner organizations for a very successful Peace March.

今年の行進は、山口さん、松永洋子さんなど多くの通し行進者が参加されたこともあり、特別だったと思います。東京から広島までを通し行進される、たくましくて魅力的な男性と女性です。この2人のコンビネーションは抜群でした。松永さんは女性とこどもの心をしっかり掴む人でしたし、山口さんは私たちをいつも笑わせ、行進者に気を配るリーダーでした。

This year is also very special, as the Peace March is also represented by a lot of through marchers like Yamaguchi, Yoko Matsunaga. Strong and adorable man and woman who will walk from Tokyo to Hiroshima. I really like the combination because Matsunaga really captures the heart of women and children. While Yamaguchi-san is really a true leader who always make us laugh and always care for the marchers.

私は昨年は東京－神奈川コースを行進しました。それぞれの県に特徴がありましたが、ともに行進し、平和を広めようという同じ目標を掲げていました。米軍基地が多く存在する神奈川県とは対照的に、愛知には日本の自衛隊基地が多くありました。いつ事故を起こすかわからないようなジェット機の低空飛行は、守るべき自国民の命を危険にさらすものです。

Last year I also marched the Tokyo and Kanagawa course. And I can say that every prefecture has its own identity but has only one goal and that is to march together to promote peace. Compared to Kanagawa which has a lot of US bases, Aichi also has the Japan Self-defense force bases.  I saw the danger of having jet planes flying low through the neighborhood that put its own citizens in danger in case accident may happen.

行進参加者たちが、憲法9条を脅かす首相の言動を心配しているのがわかりました。沖縄の基地反対行動参加者には暴力的な弾圧が加えられています。最近日本は、アジアにおける兵器を含む軍装備の供給者兼開発者の役割を担うように変えられつつあります。そして日本政府はアメリカ主導の戦争を支援しています。

I also feel the concern of the marchers regarding their Prime Minister’s action towards the Article 9. The violent  treatment of the demonstrators from Okinawa. And the recent move of the government in the role of Japan towards being a weapons and military hardware supplier and developer in Asia. And the Japanese government’s support for America’s war.

愛知県内を行進した13日間は、私にとって非常に意義深い経験でした。地方自治体のリーダーのみなさん、特に市長や議員の方々は、私たちを全面的に支援してくれ、一緒に行進する人もいました。愛知県内の道のりには、たくさんの田畑の間を明るい人々に出会いながら歩く田舎道もありました。一緒に歩くうたごえの行進者のみなさんがいつも音楽を奏でて私たちを歌わせてくれたので、一度も退屈することはありませんでした。

Marching for almost 13 days in Aichi has been a very meaningful experience for me. As I meet the local leaders especially the mayors and council members who gave their full support for us and even march with us. Walking thru Aichi’s roads is like walking in the countryside where you can see a lot of farms and cheerful people. Never a dull moment as we are always accompanied by musician marchers who provided the real-time music that makes us sing-a-long.

雨の中や、焼け付くような太陽の下での行進を支えて下さったボランティアと事務局のみなさん、平和行進に参加された被爆者のみなさん、私たちを激励してくださってありがとう。実行委員会のみなさん、この運動を可能にしてくださってありがとう。警察官の人々でさえ私たちが道路を行進するのを誘導し、安全を保ってくれました。そして、私たちは平和な社会を作ることができると信じています。そこでは、正しいこと、われわれ全員にとって良いことを自由におこなうことができます。

To all volunteers and organizers who gave all their support and take the challenge of marching to the rain and scorching sun. To the Hibakushas who also participated in the Peace March and I salute them for being our inspiration. To the organizers who made this campaign possible. Even the police officers patiently guided us thru the streets and assure of our safety. And to all of us who believe that we can achieve a peaceful society. Where we are free to do what is right and best for all of us.

私はいつも、将来の世代が、私たちが今とりくんでいることから学ぶことができるよう願い、祈っています。自分たちの権利を守るためにたたかい、諸国間の平和と団結の基礎を築くべきだと政府に訴えることで、私たちは彼らに模範を示さねばなりません。兵器を誇示することで紛争や誤解を解決するべきではありません。日本を今のような平和な国にした憲法、特に第9条を尊重しましょう。自らが武装する必要を正当化するために紛争をでっちあげるようなことは間違っています。

I always hope and pray that the future generations will learn from what we are doing. By setting an example for them to fight for our rights and appeal for our governments to lay down the foundation of peace and unity among nations. Not to resort to display of weapons to settle our disputes and misunderstandings. To respect the constitution especially the Article 9 that made Japan as peaceful as it was. Not to create a false conflict to justify the need to arm yourself.
